Don McGillivray

Trainer, Counsellor Support, Community Collaborator

Born in Ontario, Don has called Manitoba, Quebec, Northwest Territories, Wisconsin and Alberta home. He is a traveler of the world – family man, teacher, school counsellor, principal, college instructor, behaviour specialist and narrative therapist.

Don is a registered member of the Canadian Couselling and Psychotherapy Association and for the past 17 years has been recognized as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). He has considerable skills and knowledges in the areas of FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), Traumatic Brain Injury, Divorce and Separation, Sexual and Physical Abuse, Self-Harm, Suicide, Child, Adolescence, and Adult Depression and Anxiety. Don also has skills and knowledge concerning Canada’s Indigenous populations who have experienced issues with colonization and assimilation. Don provides narrative therapy supervision to practicum students studying to become psychologists and social workers. His interests include Tennis, Swimming, Travel, Walk- In Counselling, Indigenous Ceremonies and Rituals, Creating Gatherings and Self-healing.
